This class..
Wow..... I can not believe this quarter is almost over because to me it seems like we just started this quarter a couple weeks ago. To be honest, I really thought this was going to be along quarter because this class involves a lot of technology usage and I am the worst person with computers and all the other gadgets. I was completely wrong because I can say I improved my technology skills because I completed all our require assignments. I guess in the past, I never really took my time using a camcorder or digital recorder and know I can safely say I know how to use it and use other functions on it. In this class I learned that their are so many free resources we can use in this world and we just need to take the time to find it. This class thought me how to think outside the box and no matter how crazy the idea is it is always possible. After reading The Novels and Threes lines it made me realized that it is normal to see strange news because this is life and s*#t happens. Weird and crazy stuff always happens everyday in this world and it is up to us to find out about it. But in really it depends on the certain indivdual if they want to think out side the box and find new things in life.
My thoughts on our group presentation

I thought our group presentation was great because everything went as plan but better. When our group was presenting, I notice that the unthinkable really can happen in our everyday life. For example, it is common sense to not go to the zoo and try to hug any animal locked up in a cage and as for the Chinese student in China it was a different story. When you really think about it, life is really crazy and we can see in on the news, TV or online but it depends on how the certain individual really have to sit down and analyze what they see. I also thought all of the groups did an extremely well on acting out their scenes and they were creative too. I was surprise when Stacy’s actually made her own rap song for scene and thought Amy is a hell of a singer! The only thing I was worried about was if Megan was really about to run me over because we never actually practiced with her car driving by. Overall, I thought this group was fantastic because everyone was so open to each others idea's to make it work for a group of 10.

Synecdoche, NY

I went to go watch Synecdoche, NY last night at 9:45 and I thought the movie was interesting because it was original and I had never seen a film with this type of scenario and content before. To me the film was a little too long and it had too many things going on at the same time for me to remember but other than that I thought it was great. In this film you have to pay close attention to understand the story. For example, in the beginning of the film, there was a tall white man wearing a suit standing outside of Caden’s house and at first I wondering who he was. Towards the middle of the film the same guy who was standing outside Caden’s house, reappeared to audition to play Caden himself for his play. I thought that was kind of creepy because to me I thought he was a stalker or something because he portrayed Caden’s character so well. Caden was so obsessed to make his play as realistic as possible that he basically forgot what was important to him which was his own life. What caught my attention was the house that was always on fire and it seemed normal to Caden and that girl that bought the house. Was there a purpose for the house to be on fire? I thought it was funny when I saw Caden’s therapist’s feet because she had a really bad rash or bruise. For some odd reason I started to think about how in reality when someone has a bruise or rash that bad, they traditionally would cover their feet and it made me think about what was the point of that. Overall, I thought the film was fun and interesting and if I understood the movie correctly, the moral of the film is to just live your life and don’t be afraid of change because life is short. Also, I think the movie title is called Synecdoche, NY because Caden moved to New York to pursue Broadway to and a bigger audience.
Art of Graffiti Removal

After watching this film I thought it was interesting to see how some people look at graffiti removal as part of the graffiti movement. I can understand why people may think graffiti removal as art but to me I think it is the complete opposite because to the best of my knowledge graffiti removal is meant to block or destroy the artist art piece. I really do understand that the artist is trying to show their artwork in public but they also have to understand that their vandalizing public or private property and the owner or the city is blocking the artist creative expression because they do not want there. Overall, I thought the movie was great because it showed two sides of the stories and it really depends on the certain individual to be the judge base on their everyday life experience. For example, if a certain individual is familiar with graffiti they are going know and understand this situation as for a person with no knowledge of this subject they might just see it as cleaning up another mess.

Thinking about group 3's project.....
I thought group 3's presentation was interesting because it made me think about what is really important to me and have to start cherishing in life more. For example, just this past summer, my dad had a major heart attack. When his work place called my mom and said my dad was not feeling so well, they suggested we should go pick him up. My mom and I went to go pick him and when he got in the car, I really didn’t notice much and I thought he was just sick or something but my mom knew something was wrong. So my mom said drive him to the hospital but my dad was refusing because he thought he was just dizzy and he just wanted to go home and sleep it off. I was telling my mom he’s okay and we should just listen to him and take him home but then my mom started to notice that my dad was turning pale and then she grabbed my dads hand and asked if he was okay. Suddenly my mom said take him to the hospital right now because his hands were cold and I reached over to touch his hands and it was ice cold and then I started to get really worried. As I was driving and freaking out, I had an option to go on the freeway because I was right by it but for some odd reason I decided to go locally and when I drove past the freeway entrance, I took a quick glance and saw dead stop traffic on the freeway. Luckily my mom was in the car and I didn’t take the freeway because my dad would have not made it. When we immediately arrived to the hospital, my dad had two heart attacks and could have died if we didn't go to the hospital right away. In relation with group 3's project, I should stop and smell the roses because sometime I tend to take my family for granted because I would always think nothing would ever happen to them but in reality anything can happen in a heart beat. Life is Crazy and it goes by FAST and from now on I am going to try to appreciate all the things in my life before it passes right by me. Though I wished my dad never experience his heart attack but to me I think everything happens for a reason because my dad started to value life more by quit smoking cigarettes and exercising more.

friends....
Wow…… I have the worst hangover ever and I can’t believe I’m up because I just came home like five hours ago but I have always been an earlybird anyways. I haven’t gone out for months and the reason why I went out was because it was one of my good friends birthday. I realized that as you get older, you really don’t have the time to hangout with friends like before because everybody have different schedules and priorities. This was the first time that all my friends and I, have been together since our last trip to Vegas in June and even though we haven’t seen each other it seem like we haven’t miss a beat. The reason why I said we haven’t miss a beat is because I thought it would be kind of weird seeing all my friends together because we haven’t all hung out for awhile but I was wrong because we all grew up together and there would always be that chemistry between us

Graffiti!!!!
When I was driving home last night, I noticed that someone sprayed graffiti on a wall of a store next to my house and it reminded me about group 2’s presentation. To me I think when someone graffiti’s in a public place, it is because they want people to see their piece or they want to represent their crew or themselves to a public place. I was one of the person that answered “no” I don’t mind if I see graffiti in a bus stop and “yes” I do mind if it’s in my neighborhood. To be honest I don’t mind seeing graffiti at a bus stop because it’s not my property and it’s typical to see this kind of things in a public place. As for my neighborhood, I would mind because I guess it’s out of the norm and when I do see graffiti it’s always at the store but to the best of my knowledge it’s the only second time that happened. If I lived in downtown Seattle or something I wouldn’t mind because its normal to see graffiti in the city and I guess it really do depends on where you are at because some places it’s considered natural and some places don’t but it really depends on the certain individual to decide on that.
This is not really related but I thought this was a cool graffiti of Tupac that payed tribute to the legendary rapper after his death.

Rock on.....
At first I wanted to interview my two little cousins but they were too shy so I had to figure out another way to record them. The reason why I chose my little cousins Ashley and Abby because they come over to my house everyday after school until my aunt comes pick them up. To me I think the sound of a little kids joy and excitement is the most interesting because it brings me happiness when I see the joy on their face. Since they were too shy, I decided to trick them and have them play Rock Band. Rock Band is a game where you can be the guitarist, drummer or the singer in a rock band. As they were playing I secretly recorded them and in this audio you can hear a repeating tumping sound which is the drum and my little cousins talking to each other in joy while playing the rock song. I also cut and added some voices in the background so I guess I say its a remix.
If my audio is not working go to this url http://www.archive.org/details/RockBand
and then you can listen to it.

Blog on Leslie's film
The car ride in Leslie’s film is a lot different than my own car ride because I am the one that usually does all the talking. If someone is riding with me, I am always trying to engage in conversation because I like to talk and I think it’s weird when there’s complete silence. To the best of my knowledge the only time when I am not talking in a car ride is when we’re listening to music but other than that, I’m always talking. I lived in Seattle basically all my life and I know this is sad but I have the worst sense of direction and in the film it seems like he's pretty good with his directions. The only time when I have “me” time is when I am driving alone and it is very important for me because this is where I do all my thinking. Every time when I am driving I observe my surroundings and a lot of the time when I see people in the streets I think in my head and wonder where is this person walking to, what is this person thinking, why is this person walking or taking the bus and etc. After writing this post I realized that the only thing I have in common with the driver in this film is that we’re really focused when we drive.

Starting to like the same thing as......
When I was driving home a couple of days ago, for some reason I started to think about the Andy Warhol book we read last week. What stood out to me the most is when he said something about how couples do become like each other when they’re together for a long time. I have to agree with Warhol because it’s true. I noticed that my girlfriend and I are starting to like the same things. I have been with my girlfriend for the past three years and we are the complete opposite. For example, before I met my girlfriend's toy Pomeranian, I use to hate dogs for some reason but now I don’t mind them at all and I think it’s because I was not open about it until understood the joy of being around a dog. I thought this was the best example because I was not a dog person but now I understand the joy in having a dog. This also goes with your friends too because you're always around them and they might expose you to new things in life that you didn’t like in the past.

A new era

This morning I went to vote and I thought it was exciting because it was my first time voting. To be honest, I did not know what the outcome was going to be because I thought the United States was not ready for a change. Just about an hour ago my girlfriend called me and said Obama won the presidential election and I was shocked (in a good way) because the United States is going in a different direction and it's definately a year of change. For example, this year the presidential election was out of the norm because we had an African American male running for president and also a female who tried to run. It shows that the United States is ready for a change. In the past and just a couple of hours ago I did not think I would see a minority as our president.I’m glad I witness this historical event because it gives people hope of reaching their dreams and never in a million years I would think this would happen.

Think and write like Warhol and Goldsmith

Andy Warhol style
Who would want to buy a stylish I phone carrying case and the only people that would buy it is the one that really care about their cool objects. I bet they try so hard to keep up with the latest electronics and I guess they want other people to think that they are so fashionable. Looking at the 1960s gift basket brought back a lot of memories, I remember when a lot of people in the 60s did not care about their hygiene’s. How can people wear leather and suede during that and not take that many showers and their underarm would smell. To me the regular blue jeans were the best. These new expensive shoes and clothes do not make people because the people make the clothes and shoes. I don’t understand why people would go out their way and try to find the cheapest and most fashionable clothes and shoes and try to be in the “in crowd”. The people who see them will think in their head and say “Look at them they are trying so hard to look good and I bet they took a long time doing so”. Do people really need all the latest electronics and clothes in life and what is the real reason why they want it? Is it to put on a show for other people?
Kenneth Goldsmith style.
Uh people need and should buy an I pone carrying case because they do not want to drop their expensive phone and they should be prepared for the worst. If you want the best deals on the latest clothes, shoes and electronics they should go on Amazon.com and get the latest discounts. If you go get the new Playstation 3 you should be prepared to have a lot of fun. Save money on Amazon.com when you purchase the Kenneth Cole Reaction accessories because it is a great deal. The next great deal of the day is gemstone rings and if it’s under a hundred dollars and you can take an extra 30% off the original price. Other great savings this week are the Video games and hard drives. Some other popular video game accessories that are on sale are the Wii remote control, Mario Kart with the wheel and the Nintendo DS. You can continue to shop for these items for the rest of the week. Other top sellers of the week are books and it is updated hourly. Be prepared to check back next week for the latest saving.

Martin Arnold film
This got to be one of the weirdest films I have ever seen in my life. My first impression was that I thought the tape or DVD was in bad condition and it was just skipping and repeating on its own. As the film was playing it seem like the dad was pounding on the table to go with the beat then it looks like he was scratching a record on a turntable like a DJ would do. After watching this film in class and in YouTube I realized that people can have different perception of things because people see things differently in life.

Off the top in class activity 10/22/08.

Did these guys just kill the elephant! I just see them cleaning it and stuff and why did they do it. This is an odd picture because I have never seen a skinless elephant before. I just noticed something too and why is all the pictures in black and white. I am speechless about this picture because I do not know what to write about. I feel like I am in a weird movie right now because this is a random activity to do. I wonder how these guys killed the elephant, did they shot it or did they inject it with something. What happened to the ivory, I bet this greedy ass punks killed it for the ivory.

Un Chien Andalou
I thought this film was odd but interesting because we couldn’t hear anybody talk but the music played a huge role because it kind of narrated the film and it also helped me get in to it more. The film caught me off guard when I saw a couple of violent scenes and the music in the background didn’t give me the heads up like other traditional films when something bad was going to happen. The part that stood out to me the most was when one of the guys towards the end magically had two guns and how he started to shoot the other guy. It stood out to me because it just randomly happened and the two paper thing he was holding just turned in to guns.

Life is like rewind movie
After filming myself driving to school this mourning I realized that life is like a rewind movie because most people have a set routine throughout the week. For example, most people work or go to school the same time everyday from Monday through Friday and they usually do the same routine before they go to school, work or whatever they have to do. I just thought it was kind of weird thinking about it because my life is so predictable from Monday to Friday but on the weekends it’s a different story. Since something is wrong with this audio, you can picture yourself in my position and think about whats going on in your head when you're driving to your destination.

Basketball

I chose the game basketball because it’s just like life because you have to practice in order to get better unless you’re like a superhuman or something. There is no “I” in basketball because it’s a team game and in life you have to learn how to work with others because it’s apart of our everyday life. In life you’re always going to win some or lose some just like basketball and you have to live and learn from it. This game represents me because it’s a people’s game and I am a people’s person. The goal in basketball is to make the ball into the basket and my goal in life is to ball out!
FYI: In slang terms ball out means making a lot of money or having a lot of money.

ABOUT TIME!
I am so happy I just finish my argumentative essay and it took me the whole weekend just to write 4 pages. I can safely say this is the hardest paper I ever wrote and I just took my senior seminar class last summer that was required to write 20 pages! To be honest, I really did try my best but I don’t even know if I wrote the paper correctly because the material was so hard to understand. Anyways I have about an hour and five minutes left to enjoy the rest of my weekend and I guess I’ll just see you guys tomorrow in class.

My hard essay
Man….. I am having such a hard time writing this argumentative essay about Plato, Sophocles and Marcus Aurelius. The problem is I don’t know where to start and I am still kind of lost even though I did all the readings. To me I think the reason why I’m having a hard time is because I don’t have ANY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE about ancient Greece and the literature. I guess I can kiss my weekend good bye!!!

My "Everyday" quote
I thought the reading was kind of hard because I had to go over some of the pages a couple of times to understand it but otherwise it was very interesting. The quote I chose is on page 26
“To begin with, everyday life does not exist as generality. There are as many everyday lives as there are places, people and ways of life. Everything is not the same in Timbuktu, in Paris, in Theran, in New York, in Buenos Aires, in Moscow in 1990, in 1960. In fact what do the world mean? Whatever is represented on a daily basis?
I thought this quote was good because it gave me my current theory of what is the everyday life. Everybody in this world have a different everyday life because we are different people by having a different religion, up bringing, social class, education, motivation, ethnicity, jobs and personality. We may have stuff in common or like the same things but we encounter a different everyday life because every individual lives a certain lifestyle. We are all humans and have been produced the same but we live life differently from one another.

What a way to start my weekend!
Before I start on my homework ,I wanted to post a blog about how unlucky I was last night. Just a few days ago my little brother just turned 21 and my three older sisters and I decided to celebrate his birthday at Muckleshoot Casino because he likes to play poker. I thought it was a good idea until I lost some money. It was bothering me all morning because I could have used the money to buy a pair of shoes or something but I guess its okay because my little bro had fun. I should of listened to myself and not play and now I have to finish my homework with less money in my pocket. Haha.

20 Minutes of Nothing
I just finished doing 20 minutes of nothing and it was harder than I thought because I am the type of person that can not sit still and do nothing for more than 10 minutes. I kept on looking at my phone and wishing that the time would go by faster so I can get on with the rest of the day. Suddenly I thought to myself I can use this time to mentally plan out my weekend because I have nothing else to do for the next 18 minutes. In my head I thought to myself, if I want to enjoy this coming weekend, I have to finish all my homework by today because I have a couple of birthday parties I have to attend tomorrow. On Sunday I HAVE to tailgate and watch football with the boys. Out of no where, I took a glace at my phone and I only had 3 minutes left and I was so happy but for some odd reason I knew I was forgetting something and then I remembered I had a dinner and movie date with my girlfriend tonight.
